Guadalupe River, Summer 1999
The Camp

Sittin' around the camp. The big tent in the back is ours. :)

The River

Okay, the canoe with the hole in it is yours, Will.

Yah, Will's working hard here, eh? <g>
It
was a beautiful day, not too hot but sunny and blue skied. You couldn't
ask for a better day to be on the river!

The River was about 350 cubic feet per minute, just about average.

Still, trying to do the Chute in an aluminum canoe provided Joe and I are one
and only spill for the day. That's our empty canoe floating there, after
dumping both Joe and I into the drink. Dang 'Tubers were so thick that one
of 'em jammed the canoe up against the rocks as we were trying to navigate the
Chute. And over we went.

Late in the day, at the end of our canoeing. That's me, cooling off in the river.
Notice
the leaden skies, it really started pouring down rain not long after this pic
was taken.
Love my wax-treated canvas hat, perfect for filling full of water and dumping over your head. :)
